Exchange of experience with the Trondheim Science Centre was held online Education news
During the last weekend, everyone interested in STEM fields was invited to join the experience exchange session of the project's “Development of Innovation Centre in Daugavpils” Norwegian partner, Trondheim Science Centre: "The impact of Norwegian innovation and science centres on learning methodologies and the impact of educational programs on students’ competences". The participants actively took the opportunity to ask questions, participate in discussions and shared their experience.
Daugavpils University in cooperation with Daugavpils Innovation Centre and Daugavpils City Municipality continues to implement the “Informal Continuing Education Program in a Competence-Based Approach for STEM Specialists”. Within the framework of training, teachers have the opportunity to improve their knowledge, skills and competences in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), entrepreneurship education and teaching methodology, which has become the basis for sustainable development nowadays.
The aim of the teachers` continuing education training program is to enrich teachers` knowledge, skills and competences in STEM and entrepreneurship education by fostering innovative learning and offering new learning tools, thus providing research-based knowledge and strengthening teachers` ability to inspire, motivate and support young people to choose science and technology studies for the achievement of their future goals and for the sustainable development of society. The training is implemented by the academic and scientific staff of Daugavpils University.
The training is organized within the framework of the project “Development of Innovation Centre in Daugavpils”, project No. NFI/IC/VIAA/2020/4, Agreement No. 9.-20.2.2.1/4, implemented under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for the period 2014-2021 program “Research and Education” activity “Innovation Centres”.
