“Basics”, an exhibition of contemporary ceramic art by 71 ceramic artists from the three Baltic States, will be opened at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre at 4 p.m. on Friday 5 July. Under the framework of the exhibition, a conference on ceramic art will take place at the conference sector from noon sharp until 2 p.m.

At 4 p.m. on Friday 5 July, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will open its height-of-summer season with exhibitions by Latvian, Baltic and international artists. The opening ceremony will be preceded by a conference of Baltic ceramicists, scheduled to start at noon sharp.
At 11 a.m. on Saturday 5 July in Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre Marietta Patricia Leis, distinguished American artist, participant of the Venice Biennale, author of many solo exhibitions and participant of numerous international residencies, will give a public lecture “My Life in Art”. At noon sharp, the artist will follow it up with a master class “Armature of Abstract Art”.
By way of homage to Silva Linarte, brilliant artist and veteran art educator, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre launches a new symposium tradition – the international painting symposium “Silva Linarte” whose first iteration is scheduled for 25 June through 5 July.
From June 28, 2019 to June 30, 2019 the 2nd International Doll Festival will be held in Daugavpils
For the second time Daugavpils Regional and Art Museum will receive in its premises artists, masters and fans of author dolls from all over the world. The moto of the festival of 2019 is “Dolls and Paper”. Two exhibitions will be open during the festival.

On 12 July, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will open a new exhibition of original works by artist Mark Rothko. The event will be marked by a public discussion and concert and attended by Mark Rothko’s daughter, Kate Rothko Prizel.
Fifth Art Night in Daugavpils

At 10 p.m. through 2 a.m. on Friday 7 June, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will organise its fifth Art Night in the historical Daugavpils Fortress.
On 18 May 2019, 7 p.m. through midnight, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will be open for the Long Night of Museums with a special programme “Grey Covers Laid out by the Night”.
Popular Lithuanian media artist Remigijus Venckus to offer a one-day exhibition at the Rothko Centre

For one day only, on 18 May, 7 p.m. through midnight, expressly for the Long Night of Museums, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will offer photo exhibition “Solaris” by popular Lithuanian media artist Remigijus Venckus. The exhibition was inspired by Polish philosopher Stanislaw Lem and his ideas expressed in the Sci-Fi novel “Solaris”.
Today on May 7 at 3:00 PM, the 8th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium will be officially started with the artists’ presentations at Daugavpils Mark Rothko art Centre.
On Friday 26 April, in cooperation with Boris Lurie Art Foundation, an exhibition “Artist and Witness” by world-famous artist Boris Lurie, founder of the NO!art movement, will open at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre.
Sixth anniversary of the Rothko Centre

On Friday 26 April, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Centre will celebrate its sixth anniversary with a lecture, a film screening, a discussion and the opening of the new exhibition season.
This is an annual spring exhibition of Daugavpils Regional Artists Association, which takes place at the Daugavpils Regional Studies and Art Museum for the 21th time.
At 4 p.m. on 12 April, a solo exhibition "I see nature like colour" by award-winning British artist Gillian Ayres (1930-2018) will be opened near the display of select original works by Mark Rothko.
