Social workers of Daugavpils celebrated treir Professional holiday with a huge conference. City news

On the 14th of November Daugavpils City Concil held an event dedicated to the Day of the social worker. The event began with a performance of young singers, who created a positive mood. Conference was opened by Daugavpils City Council Chairperson ŽannaKulakova:

- This year in Europe passes under the sign of seniors - said MrsKulakova. In Daugavpils pensioners receive special attention. No wonder why exactly our city received an award in the competition "European municipality of the Year" in the category "Government - for raise the significance of seniors in society." All these things are our daily work, which was highly appreciated. You have a lot of energy, patience and new ideas. All of this helps to reduce social tension in society. On this holiday, I want to express my gratitude to each of you, and wish that work would only bring satisfaction, to always have the ability to help, to have enough health, strength and optimism!

The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Welfare of Latvia.

After attending the conference the participants watched the program, prepared specialists of Department of public relations of City Council.

In the social sphere of Daugavpils work more than 200 people. They found their mission in social work and the mission of helping people. If the doctor treats the human body, a psychologist - a state of mind, a social worker treats social problems in society.

At the end of the conference social workers with a long working experience, representatives of public organizations were awarded with diplomas of the Ministry of Welfare and Daugavpils City Council.
