DAUGAVPILS STUDENTS TAKE PART IN EUROPEAN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT WEEK 2023 City news
From 18th September to 8th October the European Sustainable Development Week 2023 (ESDW) takes place in Latvia and across Europe. During this event Daugavpils Development Department, in cooperation with the Education Department, AADSO Ltd and the Latgale Zoo, organised an event for pupils in grades 6th-7th. Event took place in the premises of Daugavpils Innovation Centre.
The aim of the event was to educate pupils about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and to inform both children and teachers about the BALTIPLAST and Urb-area projects and the educational materials developed within them, which can be used by schools in the learning process.
The teams had to perform different tasks in the form of an educational game, which allowed them to learn more about ecological problems and how each one of us can contribute to solving them. The children were enthusiastic about the tasks and eager to broaden their horizons.
During the event, pupils and teachers also had the opportunity to see the Daugavpils Innovation Centre exhibition, which has been operating for less than a year, but has already become a good resource for STEM subjects in the education process.
