4th Latvia Ceramics Biennale will wow with exciting events in Rīga, Daugavpils and Portugal

To turn the spotlight on contemporary ceramics in Latvia and internationally, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre once again joins forces with the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Ceramics to put together the 4th Latvia Ceramics Biennale with an exciting programme set to take over Rīga, Daugavpils and even Aveiro, Portugal.

The traditional festival “GOSTŪS LATGOLĀ” will be held for the third time in Daugavpils on 29th July. “GOSTŪS LATGOLĀ” is a festival of Latgale's hospitality, culture and traditions.

At 4 p.m. on Friday, 2 June, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will open its summer exhibition season, featuring a legendary Latvian art group and other impressive projects from Britain, Poland and Ukraine.
Daugavpils City Municipality together with the lead partner Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany) within the European Union INTERREG Baltic Sea Region Programme 2021-2027 has launched the project "Baltic Approaches to Handling Plastic Pollution under a Circular Economy Context" BALTIPLAST / #C021.
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT “SMARTGREEN”

Daugavpils City Municipality has started the implementation of a project “GREEN ENERGY FOR SMART CITIES”, No. PA-GRO-1575. Project is financed by Nordic and Baltic Mobility Programme for Public Administration. The purpose of the programme is to promote and strengthen cooperation, exchange of knowledge, and networking between public administration structures on all administrative levels in the Nordic-Baltic Region.
The season of active tourism will be opened in Daugavpils with a bicycle ride at the end of April. On April 29 at 11 a.m. a bike ride along the city streets and promenades with a city guide will begin. Daugavpils City Municipality Tourism Development and Information Agency invites everyone who loves active lifestyle to participate in this event, that is organised in cooperation with the tourist club “Sniegpulkstenīte”.

The Rothko Centre Turns 10

From 22 to 28 April, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will celebrate its tenth anniversary with concerts, exhibitions and a new display of original paintings by the world-renowned artist Mark Rothko.
The 11th International Latgale Graphic Art Symposium will start at 3 p.m. on 11 March 2023 at the exhibition hall of the Daugavpils Culture Palace with a formal welcoming of its participants and the opening of an exhibition by the locally born graphic artist Vitolds Svirskis.
At 4 p.m. on Friday, 3 March, the Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre will open its spring exhibition season, featuring works by the world-renowned native of Daugavpils, Jacques Chapiro, alongside five other impressive projects.
