Project goal and activities:

The overall aim of the project is to promote the involvement of civil society (including vulnerable groups and minorities) in creating an inclusive, sustainable and visually attractive living environment in the city through artistic and cultural participation, based on the principles of the New European Bauhaus.

 

The " New European Bauhaus " is a strategic, creative and interdisciplinary environmental, economic and cultural initiative that combines its core principles of design, sustainability, accessibility and investment to achieve the goals of the European Green Deal.

    

The project includes the following activities :

-          to organise international seminars to promote sustainable and inclusive urban development;

-          to organise training on the principles of the New European Bauhaus for both municipal and non-governmental representatives;

-          to gain knowledge of European best practices in developing strategies to improve the urban living environment based on the principles of the New European Bauhaus initiative;

-          to create dialogue with the city's citizens to foster a sense of belonging, especially involving young people, ethnic minorities and vulnerable groups;

-          to carry out activities with the groups concerned to promote and make accessible the cultural and artistic spaces created in the urban environment;

-          to promote inter-institutional cooperation at local and regional level;

-          to participate in international partner exchanges and present Daugavpils as an educated EU city and share its experience;

-          to develop international EU solidarity and cooperation with the participating cities and municipalities.

 

Participation in the project is in line with the action line "RV25 Development Cooperation" defined in the Development Programme of Daugavpils State City and Augšdaugava Municipality for 2022-2027 under the medium-term priority "MTP5 Strong, Independent Sectoral Governance and Synergy", which provides for the implementation of cooperation at regional, national and international level, which involves the implementation of cross-border cooperation projects in various fields, promoting international cooperation, twinning.
